Erickson Merkel Foundation Scholarships

At the Erickson Merkel Foundation, we seek to offer financial support in the form of scholarship awards to high achieving students who have the determination to take control of their academic, professional, and financial futures. We are seeking individuals who are doing everything possible to achieve their personal, educational, and professional goals while avoiding student loan debt.

2022 EMF Scholarships

The Erickson Merkel Foundation will award four scholarships to top applicants in 2022:

$1,000 Jerome P. Merkel Scholarship
$1,000 Donald Erickson Scholarship
$1,000 Susan McGuire Scholarship
$1,000 Duane Reznechek Scholarship

In 2022, the Erickson Merkel Foundation will also award one $1,000 Henry & Patricia Belisle Determination Scholarship to a Thomas Edison High School (Minneapolis, MN) senior in 2022.

Eligibility Requirements

• Location: You must reside in or attend school in Minnesota, North Dakota or Colorado.

• Current Academic Year: You must be an undergraduate through post-graduate student who will be enrolled in a qualified institution during the 2022-2023 academic year. Current high school students (those on track to graduate high school in 2022 or later) are not eligible for this year’s EMF scholarships.

• Qualified Institutions: Qualified institutions must be accredited and include vocational/tech schools; two-year colleges; four-year colleges/universities; graduate schools.

PARENTS: If you are a parent and applying for a scholarship for yourself, we encourage you to apply! However, if you are a parent and applying for scholarships for your child, we’d like to encourage you to pass on applying for an EMF scholarship. While we’re happy that you are looking for ways to lessen the financial burden of sending your children to college — if it is you who is looking for and applying for scholarships, it’s unlikely that your child is the sort of candidate we are looking for.

Applying for a 2022 EMF Scholarship

Only applications received via online submission using the link below will be accepted for consideration. Scholarship applications must be filled out completely to be considered; incomplete applications will not be considered. Only one application per student can be submitted for consideration; if we receive multiple applications for the same student, that student will be ineligible for a 2022 scholarship.

We use one application form! The Erickson Merkel Foundation scholarship application is used to select four applicants for $1,000.
